Cultural Infrastructure

Anina culture bears the imprint of the special conditions of this area. The culture of these places was marked by factors specific to each ethnic segment of the population, each combining the features of a multiethnic culture. In the years of socialism has been a regression, a blur of specific cultural events, customs and traditions. Currently trying to rediscover and enhancement of the culture, regardless of its music, dance, costumes, literature, painting, photography, etc. One of the most important and enduring cultural associations in Anina, documented in 1865 but is probably much fanfare oldest city, founded as a band of miners. Over the years he attended numerous national cultural events, and has brought numerous awards which boasts Anina. The main cultural core of the city was developed at the Cultural House in Anina, built in 1920 and 2004 in the public domain Anina City Hall. Within it there are several cultural groups – artistic and cultural activities, as follows:

Folk orchestra “Doina Alder” – amateur orchestra which has around 9 instrumentalists and 11 singers. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday around 2:00. Banat repertoire is inspired by folklore, but also from other areas of the country.
The club “Femina” – has around 35 members. They meet once a month and discusses various issues – on economic, cultural, scientific, health, etc.
Literary “Virgil Office” – which operates about 20 poets, novelists, essayists, journalists, all amateurs from Anina. It is being written and published a magazine of literature, art and culture “Arcadia”, chief editor – Michael Pepper. The magazine is published the writers own creations of local and county. They meet monthly circle meetings.
Painting class – which you operate Anina children from 5 to 14 years. Thematic exhibitions are organized according to different events. Circle comprises of 15 children. Instructor is Miss Dietlinde Krischer.
Circle Modern Dance and society – Enable around 35 people. They meet twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Singing Circle on 2 sections – pop music and folk music.
Regular performances are held complex, participant various activities described above. I attach the file containing the program of activities for 2007. The entire activity is coordinated by Mr. Michael Pepper, director of Culture in Anina.
The House of Culture has a library with over 13,000 volumes.
Work should not be overlooked Steierdorf German Democratic Forum – Anina which has as main objective the maintenance of cultural identity – artist of the German population from these lands. It operates in the Culture House in district Steierdorf property Anina City Hall public domain. Of formations cultural – artistic activities under FDG must be met:
– German folk dance band “Edelweiss Steierdorfer”
– Music band vocal – instrumental “Cordial” focused on all types of music: folk and light German, Romanian folk and light, party, modern, etc .; The band consists of four musicians and two vocalists. Rehearsals are usually once a week on Thursday, 3 hours.
– Circle of traditional crafts for children;
– A library with over 5,000 books, half in German.
In terms of spiritual life worth mentioning the Romanian Orthodox parish in Anina and the Steierdorf, Roman Catholic parishes in Anina and the Steierdorf Baptist Church and the Pentecostal Church Anina Anina.
